How to Clean Up Your Home After A Halloween Party (5 Spooktacular Tips)

How to Clean Up Your Home After A Halloween Party (5 Spooktacular Tips)

The decorations are out, pumpkins line the streets, and kids are prepping their scariest costumes, which can only mean one thing… Halloween is here! It’s such a fun time of year when we trick or treat, enjoy haunted hayrides, and dress up for spooky Halloween parties. However, once the fun of the party is over, the clean up begins (sigh). With that in mind, here are 5 spooktacular tips for putting the skeletons back in the closet (aka cleaning up after a Halloween party).

1. Take preventative measures

The best cure is prevention, right? Applying a hydrophobic nanocoat solution to the various surfaces around your home will help them stay cleaner for longer and reduce the time it takes to clean them. From glass to tiles and plenty in between, nanocoating can help protect a range of surfaces ahead of any event you’re hosting.

2. Do a trash bag clean-up

The easiest way to start the cleaning process after a party is to grab a rubbish bag, walk through your entire home, and collect all the random bits and pieces of trash that you see. Not only will you have a much cleaner home in just one step, but you’ll be able to notice any areas that need a more in-depth clean while you’re doing the garbage rounds.

3. Tackle sticky messes

Sticky messes can be the absolute worst to clean up. Whether it’s spilled soda, leftover candy, or other residue, you can tackle these messes with a range of different cleaning products like glass scrapers, microfibre cleaning cloths and, of course, a quality all-purpose cleaner.

4. Repurpose those pumpkins

There is soooo much pumpkin wastage throughout Halloween, so instead of simply throwing your leftover jack-o-lanterns in the bin, you can donate them to a local farm animal rescue as food, make a temporary planter by adding a little soil and some foliage inside, or try your hand at composting.

5. Donate unused decorations

This is a great opportunity for a little decluttering! Take stock of your Halloween decorations (and your Christmas decorations while you’re at it) and donate any items that you no longer use.

You don’t need to be scared about post-Halloween party cleanup. A simple approach is all you need to take your home from nightmare fuel to an absolute dream.
