3 Pro Tips for Maintaining A Clean Home With Pets

3 Pro Tips for Maintaining A Clean Home With Pets

Pets bring such joy and love into our lives, but they also bring their fair share of messes. From excess fur to muddy paws, pet parents know that keeping a clean home can be a challenge. But fear not! We've rounded up 3 pro tips to help you maintain a spotless living space while enjoying the company of your furry family members.

1. Keep on top of shedding

  • Invest in a quality pet brush: Regular grooming is the first line of defence against pet fur taking over your home. Brushing your pet daily not only reduces shedding but also gives you an excuse to spend some quality one-on-one time together.
  • Choose pet-friendly upholstery: Opt for pet-friendly furniture and fabrics that are easy to clean and resist pet hair. Leather and microfibre are great choices for this purpose.

2. Clean and maintain paws and claws

  • Create a pet cleaning station: For dog owners, set up a designated area near your front door with a towel, pet wipes, and a paw-cleaning brush. This helps prevent muddy pawprints from spreading through your home. Cats tend to clean themselves so this isn’t one cat owners should need to worry about (unless your cat is particularly adventurous!).
  • Trim those nails: Regular nail trims not only protect your floors and furniture but also keep your pet comfortable and healthy. If you're unsure how to do it yourself, consult your vet or a professional groomer who can safely and painlessly trim your pet’s nails.

3. Use nanocoat products as an extra layer of defence

  • Nanocoat your bathtub: Bath time for pets can be messy, but nanocoating your bathtub and tiling/grout creates a hydrophobic surface that repels water and grime, meaning reduced clean-up time and long-lasting protection against stains and odours.
  • Nanocoat glass surfaces: Consider nanocoating windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces in reach of your pet with non-toxic products. This protective layer will stand between sticky slobber, dirty paws and other pet mess, allowing for a quick wipe-down cleaning job, instead of endless scrubbing.

By following these tips, you can feel a little less frustrated by the mess your furry friends make and spend less time cleaning and more time cuddling. Happy pet parenting!
